With a sense of history and style, The Old St Thomas Chapel is the only heritage wedding chapel of it's kind in the greater Sydney area. Couples can bring their own civil celebrant, minister or pastor to perform their wedding or be referred to others by The Old St Thomas Chapel's friendly co-ordinators.

The Chapel welcomes everyone from all backgrounds, beliefs, denominations, age, sexuality and creed. We believe that everyone is equal and should be treated as one. Every wedding is special!

The Chapel is the ideal Macarthur Wedding Venue! With a seating capacity of 140 people, the Chapel is large enough to accommodate most weddings, but still very intimate for smaller gatherings.

No need to worry about the weather, The Old St Thomas Chapel is a perfect venue in wet weather. You can use the grounds and Chapel for your photography including the exterior of The Old Hall located behind the Chapel. This building was built in 1839 and is the most significant surviving building in Narellan. Functions at The Old St Thomas Chapel are booked adjacent to each other and ceremonies can be booked for any time of the day or evening. The Chapel is available to hire 7 days a week - 365 days a year!

Camden Wedding Venue

Organise as little or as much as you like. A wedding venue coordinator is provided on the wedding day to help with details such as:

  • setting up pew decorations and floral decorations

  • playing your music using our sound system provided

  • setting out order of service booklets

  • ushering guests into the Chapel

  • setting up your candles for candle ceremonies

  • any other special requirements on the day

Hire of Chapel Only
2 hour rental starting 30 minutes before the ceremony time.

Includes ceremony coordinator, optional choice of existing pew decorations, hire of silk floral arrangements. Use of music facilities. Tea light candles and tapers if required for candle ceremonies.

Chapel Plus Civil Celebrant Officiant or Catholic Priest ^
Includes your choice of our preferred male or female Civil Marriage Celebrant or Catholic Priest listed on our preferred supplier’s page. Plus all inclusions as above in our Chapel only hire. Includes all legal paperwork and ceremony planning and preparation etc.

Additional Time
$250 per half hour (where bookings allow).

Should you wish to hire the Chapel longer than 2 hours for extra photography time or if your ceremony will take longer than 30 minutes etc., it is advised to do so at the time of booking so we can guarantee the Chapel’s availability. The Chapel can and does allow multiple weddings on a day. Some dates are more popular than others. We do not guarantee that you will be the only wedding ceremony on a day. Therefore, may we suggest you book as soon as you decide the Chapel is the right venue for your wedding ceremony.

Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure your booking and is payable at the time of booking. The balance of the fee is payable one month before the function. Please note - we cannot take tentative bookings.

Floral Arrangements / Pew Decorations        
Included are our 5 silk floral arrangements and your choice of our existing pew decorations. You are welcome to arrange your own fresh flowers and/or styling to decorate the Chapel.

Minister/Pastor/Celebrant     
You need to arrange your own minister or pastor or celebrant to perform your ceremony. See our "preferred suppliers page" to see the service providers we recommend.

To book the Chapel     
Our bookings are made online. Once you have called or emailed our office to check and confirm Chapel availability for your date, you will be given the web address for our online booking form. Once submitted you will be given the bank details to pay your deposit by electronic transfer.

Please note. Any service providers you select to assist with your ceremony at the Chapel must provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency. This includes all photographers, videographers, celebrants, officiants, stylists etc.
